Joe McElderry è nato nel 1991 ed è il giovane talento britannico vincitore della sesta edizione, quella realizzata nel 2009, dell'X Factor UK. Le qualità canore di Joe sono evidenti, a questo si aggiunge anche un bel paio d'occhi e un aspetto da giovanissima star pop. Il mix è praticamente perfetto e le ragazzine britanniche sono già impazzite per lui tanto che, nell'arco di poco tempo, il suo singolo "The Climb" ha rapidamente raggiunto le zone più alte delle classifiche musicali. Il video ufficiale del brano è stato creato montando sequenze di repertorio, relative alla sua esperienza all'interno di X Factor, e immagini nuove in cui, tra l'altro, si vede Joe McElderry camminare sulle acque!
