Il disco di Avril Lavigne, "Goodbye Lullaby", arriva nei negozi il 26 settembre 2011, ma la cantante canadese ha già presentato al mondo ben due singoli. Ora arriva anche il terzo, ossia il brano intitolato "Wish you were here" scritto dalla Lavigne in collaborazione con Shellback e Max Martin. Si tratta di una ballata struggente e romantica, accompagnata da un video che vede come protagonista assoluta la bravissima cantante di Belleville. Le prime sequenze ce la mostrano all'interno di una stanza vuota, immersa in una luce soffusa e morbida. La ragazza, evidentemente sofferente per un amore finito male, incendia un fiore e poi si strugge in lacrime in preda al dolore. Abbondano quindi i primi piani del bel viso di Avril Lavigne che, infine, vediamo immergersi in una vasca piena d'acqua ed uscire coi vestiti completamente bagnati.
