Il suo nome è Asa e si pronuncia Asha. E' nata a Parigi, ma quando Asa ha soli due anni, lei e la sua famiglia si trasferiscono a Lagos, in Nigeria. Fino a venti anni Asa vive in Africa, ma poi sceglie di tornare a Parigi. Da qui parte la sua carriera artistica anche se anche in Nigeria la giovane cantante ha lasciato il segno, grazie ad alcuni brani che l'hanno resa popolarissima proprio nel momento in cui aveva scelto la Francia. Il suo stile musicale raccoglie influenze davvero molto varie, dal jazz al reggae, dalla musica tradizionale africana all'R&B. "Asa" è anche il titolo del disco da lei inciso per l'etichetta francese Naïve. Il singolo scelto per il lancio si intitola "Fire On The Mountain", ecco il video e il testo della canzone con la quale Asa, sicuramente, ci conquisterà.
